Belvedere are back with their long anticipated 4th full length “Fast Forward Eats the Tape”. The band has been keeping busy touring the world (3 European tours, 1 Japanese tour, 1 South American Tour and countless North American tours) but have finally answered the pleas of their fans for a follow up to 2001’s blistering “Twas Hell Said Former Child”. Belvedere was formed in late 1995 by founding member Steve Rawles. After a few lineup shifts, Belvedere released their debut album "Because No One Stopped Us" on Hourglass Records and 206 Records (Los Angeles) in 1998. Up to this point, the group had done 5 Western Canadian tours and 4 West Coast US tours, gaining a solid following. The album sold over 3000 copies and helped Belvedere in 1998 Bad Religion/Warped Tour battle of the bands contest, beating out hundreds of bands and winning recording time courtesy of Atlantic Records. In the coming year Belvedere found itself touring the West Coast several more times including a cross-Canada tour supporting Bad Religion, a 3 month-80+ show tour covering all of Canada and 40 States as well as shooting their first music video. They also recorded their sophomore effort "Angles Live In My Town" with Brian "who" Else (Dayglo Abortions, D.O.A., No Means No) at Greenhouse Studio in Vancouver and sold over 5000 copies and counting. In 2000, Belvedere did another cross Canada tour, a Mid-West-East Coast U.S. as well as 3 dates on Vans Warped Tour. They also played the 2001 Calgary Warped Tour date and embarked on another extensive U.S. tour, including 6 more dates on the U.S. Warped Tour. The tour hungry band has also played with Strung Out, Bad Religion, Dayglo Abortions, Wide Mouth Mason, Good Riddance, Big Wig, Gob, 22 Jacks, Catch 22, SNFU, Ten Foot Pole, Diesel Boy, H2O and Chixdiggit among others. Other Belvedere projects include contributions to many CD compilations in Canada, U.S, Brazil and Japan as well as to TV shows such as Nickelodeon's "Caitlin's Way" and Fox Sports. They also contributed to movie soundtracks and backgrounds such as Skate Canada '00 and RIDE: The Movie.Their newest release "Twas Hell Said Former Child" was recorded at Night Deposit Studios in Calgary with Endre Lukacsy; noted for his work with Metallica,Motley Crue, Coverdale Page, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. Released on Montreal label Union 2112, the record combines harmony and melody with fierce hardcore undertones. After the release of "’Twas Hell Said Former Child", Belvedere toured Canada and USA with bands such as The Mad Caddies, Satanic Surfers, Flashlight Brown, The Suicide Machines and The Missing 23rd as well as 3 dates on The Vans Warped Tour 2002. They also did their first European tour, where they shared the stage with Satanic Surfers, No Use For A Name and Pulley. Belvedere also recorded at the legendary Inner Ear Studios with Brian Baker (Bad Religion) and Steve Hansjen (Minor Threat) sharing production duties. The split, "Hometown Advantage" with Downway was released in Canada on Union 2112 and Sessions Records in the USA. For their latest effort, Belvedere enlisted the talents of Blair Calibaba (Sum 41, Gob) and recorded at Sundae Sounds Studio in Calgary, AB. The new record, Fast Forward Eats The Tape, is chock full of driving melodic guitar and vocal hooks and is the band's best work to date. Also be on the lookout for a video for "Slaves to the Pavement".
