Sven Wallwork : lead vox/guitar Luki Frohofer : Drums Louise Garforth : Bass
Snitch were founded in 1996 by friends Sven. Luki and Louise Over the last four years their taste in music has broadend from melodicpunk to punkrock, hardcore and rock'n'roll, the influences of which are evident in their melodic song writing. Even though the melodic-core-scene is oversaturated, Snitch has managed to establish their own sound. Sven's characteristic vocals and songwriting have shaped the band considerably. The unusal combination of melodic instrumental guitar parts and punk songstructures provides their sound with contrast and versatility.
The 7-song EP "Almighty" released on Leech Records in 1999 was followed by live-shows with MU330, Dwarves, Offspring, Pulley, Randy, Peacocks and Mustard Plug.
Snitch's first full length 100% Fireproof was released in spring 2000. During the last year Snitch was played about 50 shows, mainly in Switzerland with the following bands: Teen Idols, Bombshell Rocks, Millencolin, Vision, Planet Smashers, The Stereo, Groovie Ghoulies, AFI, Propagandhi, Less Than Jake, TheVandals, Venerea, Link 80 to name a few.
In early 2001 the 7" EP Hoist the sails was released on Sprinter Records, followed by a German tour with The Peacocks and Potshot.
In April 2001 Snitch crossed the pond for their first eastern Canadian tour with Canadian skapunk heroes Subb.
In December 2001 the japanese label TV Freak Records released a compilation of Snitch's three previous records.
In March 2002 the new album Genuine was recorded at Soundlab Studios, Örebro Sweden by Miesko Talarczyk, who recorded albums for bands such as Voice of a Generation, Bombshell Rocks, Peepshows, Adhesive or Nine and who shares the studio facilities with Mathias of Millencolin. |
