Fifty Nutz Union 2112 Records
Fifty Nutz: RIP
Fifty Nutz started jamming in September of 1996 and by April 1997, the band had already released a 9-song demo which were all composed and arranged by the then four piece outfit. College radio started playing songs from the demo right away while the band was starting to make some noise on the Montreal underground scene. Since then, the band has appeared in well over 60 shows while taking part in some major events like the Vans Warped Tour 2000 and the Relevenement 2001 in Quebec City, a one-day festival headlined by Guttermouth.
Fifty Nutz also broke the ice on television performing a song on "Change d'air" on Radio-Canada on January 29th 1999. Fifty Nutz's songs have also appeared on four compilations including the MusiquePlus' "1-2-3 Punk" which features Sum 41, Millencolin, Gob, Good Riddance and No Use For a Name.
The band's first full length album entitled " Good Isn't Good Enough " was released in November of 1999. Since the first run of the LP was back ordered, a new reprint with a bonus track is now available across Quebec through Ozone distribution. Like the demo, "Good Isn't Good Enough" was self-produced with some help from Studio Nicko (Subb).
Over the last year, Fifty Nutz has had the opportunity to share the stage with a number of famed bands through Greenland Productions playing with Subb, Gob and Big Wig among others. The band also made a video for the song "Milk" which was added into "Action" rotation on MusiquePlus. The video increased the band's credibility as well as visibility.
More recently, Fifty Nutz releases "The Last Word" on Union 2112 and have been touring like crazy. Aside from 3 dates on the Vans Warped Tour 2002, they toured across the country with labelmates Subb in fall 2002 and took part in the State of The Union Tour with The Planet Smashers in November 2002. They also played several shows with Simple Plan. Their first video "Great Expectation" was on rotation on Much Music and Musique Plus and they are gearing up to film their next video for "Muffin" |
