Stomp Records
Quebec City’s passionate young road warriors, The Hunters have been a steadily making a name for themselves across the country. The boys started the band as an outlet back in 2005 when they were still in high school. They never thought for a second that the chemistry and the passion swirling between the members at the time would take them this far. Hitting the road before they were even old enough to drink legally, they played hundreds of bar gigs and shared the stage with an impressive and diverse line-up of bands including touring and shows with Anti-Flag, Mustard Plug, Agnostic Front, Against All Authority, The Briggs & The Flatliners. They’ve toured solo across the country several times, released a promising and acclaimed independent full-length (Dissent Lasts...) in 2008 and performed at an impressive roster of events including the Vans Warped Tour, Envol et Macadam Festival et most recently in Montreal's very own Pouzza Fest.
Inspired by a wide array of music influences, The Hunters take the best elements of heartfelt anthemic punk rock to muddy guitar-driven blues, to spellbinding folk to thundering rock n' roll. They create a catchy, yet potent sound that they’re proud to call their own. Their new record "Promises" is a unique and mature punk rock album recorded and produced by the studio duo of Hugo Mudie & Marc-André Beaudet (both of The Sainte Catherines fame ). They play with their heart on their sleeves and sing with an honesty that is unique for a crew of young friends in their very early 20s. They dedicate their life to their passion and will spend their life on the road, eating pizza from garbage cans and living in their van. They are like a non-mutant, non-turtle version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, warriors of the night, ready to fight evil with honesty, humour, and pizza. And they will win. Every damn night.
